Product Detail

In the diagnosis of autoimmune hemolytic anemia, detecting in vivo bound immunoglobulin and/or complement factors on erythrocytes is crucial for diagnosis. The EDAT card is a helpful tool in the diagnosis of Warm Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (wAHA), Cold Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (CAD), and HDFN.

Direct Coombs negative results due to low-affinity IgG antibodies have been reported in patients with autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Therefore, a different strategy should be implemented in cases of Direct Coombs negative autoimmune hemolytic anemia. (1) Although less common, Direct Coombs negative cases have also been reported in Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn. Further investigation is recommended in these patients, and screening for IgA and IgM antibodies is a promising solution. (2) Our new product, which allows the investigation of IgA and IgM antibodies as well as the C3c, C3d and C4 components of the complement, facilitates access to rapid and accurate diagnosis in Direct Coombs negative cases.
